5 Reasons To Visit Winter Wonderland at Center Parcs This December!

If you’re a regular reader then you’ll know that we love nothing more than getting away when we can. Even a long weekend makes the world of difference sometimes. Today on the blog we’re sharing with you why we love visiting Center Parcs in December. We’ve been to the Longleat park a few times and absolutely love it. My favourite time to visit though has to be for a Winter Wonderland break. It’s just magical! Have you been? Here are my five reasons why we love it.

It’s Magical

It really is! The decorations around the village are just amazing. The trees are adorned with thousands of lights, making the forest atmosphere come alive once the sun has set. And if it’s a rainy or dreary day, the lights make it feel cosy and warm. There’s plenty of “snow” around the site to give it that very Christmassy, winter feel. Just perfect.

The Village Square

The Village square is the place to head to for all the festivities. Here, you can visit Father Christmas, sing along to festive tunes, feed the reindeer*, or simply mooch about and soak up the atmosphere. We took B to feed the reindeer and as you can see in the photo above, he loved it! It’s such a lovely atmosphere for a Christmas family holiday.

*This is not available at any Center Parcs villages this year.

Not at all Christmas-related but the Subtropical Swimming pool is not to be missed. There’s loads to do with little kids and older kids. And the outdoor pool is just lovely. I always feel like we’re in Iceland! It reminds me of swimming in the Blue Lagoon back in 2009.

Fireworks at the Lake

When we visited a few years ago. the fireworks around the lake were a highlight for us. This is a free activity and well worth the walk if you’re a little further from the lake. Wrap up warm, take some sparklers and enjoy the fireworks and the pretty reflections on the water. You may even spot Father Christmas in a boat on the lake!

Fun for the Whole Family

There are loads of options for a family holiday these days but we absolutely love what Center Parcs has to offer all on site. And not far from where we live either. With the additional festivities during the Winter Wonderland breaks, it’s well worth the extra in my opinion. We’ve not been disappointed.  Will you be going away this Christmas, or perhaps considering something for a New Year’s break?!
