Where To Find The Best Pick Your Own Pumpkin Patches In The South West UK

It seems to be all the rage to go and pick a pumpkin. Have you been to a pumpkin patch near you? We’ve never been and I started to have a look to see which ones were closest to us here in Weston-super-Mare. And then that inspired me to write a post about it! So let’s keep it short and sweet, here’s a roundup of pumpkin patches in the South West of the UK – so think North Somerset, Somerset, Devon, Cornwall, Wiltshire and Gloucestershire.

Pumpkin Patches in Bristol and Bath

Let’s start with patches on my doorstep…

Farrington’s Farm

The closest pumpkin patch to us is Farrington’s Farm. They’re running their annual pumpkin picking festival from 12th to 31st October. Perfect for getting little ones out this half term. Entry to the fields is free. You simply pay for any pumpkins you pick.

Location is Farrington Gurney, near Bristol – BS39 6UB.

Avon Valley Adventure and Wildlife Park

Offering over 15,000 pumpkins, you’ll have plenty to choose from at Avon Valley Adventure and Wildlife Park! It costs £2 to enter the patch, on top of entrance fees to the park. You also have to then pay for your pumpkin. It could work out pricey if you’re just after a pumpkin but there’s loads to do and see at the park so worth a whole day.

Location is BS31 1TP

Where to Find Pick Your Own Pumpkins in Gloucester

Over Farm

Over Farm in Gloucester will run a Halloween event from Saturday 26th October to 3rd Nov – so over half term. You pay an admission fee of £13 but this includes a number of activities, including pumpkin picking. The pumpkin you pick is then free to take with you.

Although the entrance is a bit pricey, they have loads of shows on through the day and a number of attractions.

Location is GL2 8DB.

Primrose Vale Farm

Primrose Vale Farm offer pick your own all through the year. Give them a ring before to find out when the pumpkin picking is due to start.

Location is Gloucestershire GL51 4UA.

Pick Your Own Pumpkins in Cornwall

Trevaskis Farm in Cornwall runs pick-your-own all through the year depending on what’s in season. Keep an eye on the website for details on pumpkin picking.

Location is TR27 5JQ.


Pumpkin Patches Near Swindon

Neston Farm Shop and Kitchen have a number of things coming up on October 26th – great for keeping the kids busy during the half term holiday. Pick you own pumpkin ad have fun carving it too. Entry is free but there are costs for the activities.

Location is Melksham SN12 8HP.

The Best Pumpkin Picking in Cardiff

The Pumpkin Patch website details four patches across the UK. This Cardiff site opens from 18th October through to Halloween. Entry is free and pumpkins start at just £2.

Location is CF5 6SF.

Fordingbridge in Hampshire

Entry is also free at the Fordingbridge pumpkin patch site. Have fun picking your pumpkin to take home to decorate.

Location is SP6 2HA.

  1. Literally spend every holiday/ event at Farrington 🙂 was there today and went sweetcorn picking the other day and tulip picking in the spring it’s lovely ! Xx
