The Voksi Baby Nest – Great for Daytime Naps and Play
Hey hey. Welcome to the blog and welcome to the new me – that’s right, mum of two, rocking the boy thing. We had a boy! I am so over the moon and happy to welcome our latest addition – ickle L. He is just perfect. Be sure to follow us on social for plenty of baby spam and stories: Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest and Twitter!
So where do I start?! The sleep deprivation and fuzziness has certainly set in. It’s blinking tough isn’t it? I feel part-mum and part-zombie. To be honest, it’s lack of sleep that I find the hardest when it comes to newborns. I miss sleep so much. Ickle L has been up and down with sleep as you’d expect. We’ve had a few good nights and a few bad. It just comes with the newborn territory and I expected nothing less. Daytime napping has been fine though and I’ve had plenty of time to sort through all B’s baby clothes and get some blogging done.
Which brings me to today’s post – our review of the Voksi Baby Nest. If you’re having a baby and want a safe place for baby to nap during the day, get one. L absolutely LOVES his nest. And I’m not saying that because this is a review. He genuinely naps amazingly well in it! And as a mum of two, along with four cats and a mountain of washing, that’s priceless!
What is the Voksi Baby Nest?
The Voksi Baby Nest is an egg shaped nest for baby to sleep in during the day. It has a firm but soft base with raised sides which make it super cozy for baby. The nest is fairly narrow, making baby feel cocooned and protected. We never used anything like this with B and I wish we had. L settles straight away and sleeps really well in the nest.
How do I use the Nest?
The Baby Nest can be used on any flat surface, as well as in the pram or carrycot. We’ve only used it on our lounge floor so far. Since we got back from hospital, I haven’t ventured far.
The nest is really light though and can easily be moved from room to room, or packed in the car to be taken to Grandma’s house. It comes with a handy travel bag too – perfect for taking with you on holiday. We’re planning a short trip over Easter so will definitely be taking this with us.
Can I Use it at Night?
Although the baby nest has undergone extensive testing regarding airflow, it is not recommended to use overnight in say a crib or cot. This Baby Nest is designed to be used supervised, through the day.
Daytime Naps and Play
So it’s best used for daytime napping and also for play. You could pop baby into the nest and place a baby gym over the top. We haven’t tried this with L yet.
What’s the Baby Nest Made of?
It’s great to read that this nest is made from materials that are free from nasty chemicals and substances. All product parts are certified according to the Oeko-Tex® Standard 100, Class 1. You can read a bit more about this here. It basically means that the textiles used to make this nest have been independently tested for harmful substances and chemicals.
Grows with your Child
The nest comes with a leather strap which holds the ends together – this forms the egg shape. As your baby grows, you can open up this strap to give your little one more room.
