DIY Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Party Ideas on a Budget!
Sticking with the theme of parties at the mo, today I’m going to share some resources and ideas for planning a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles party. For kids…erm adults that are stuck in the 90s. Anything goes. There are so many wonderful ideas online and I took a lot of inspiration there to create my own, very affordable Turtles party.
And it doesn’t have to be stressful either. Take a look at our stress-free party tips.
Everything you Need for a Totally Awesome Party
So to get started, I did what all parents do nowadays. I headed over to Pinterest. And wow, there are some amazing ideas and inspiration there. Have a think about keeping it easy though. Pinterest is great but sometimes the ideas are clearly for people with A LOT of time on their hands.
For invites, I simply found some on eBay and ordered them. If you’re feeling creative, you could absolutely create your own using Canva or similar. Take a look at my guide for using Canva here.
Turtle Themed Food
Ah now this is the fun part. And you can go as crazy as you like. I wanted to keep things as easy as possible though.
The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles love pizza right. So pizza and veggie sticks it was for lunch.
For pudding? Pizza watermelon, apples and some slimy jellies. I simply made green jelly and popped a bug sweet on top.
For turtle themed drinks, I covered some Robinson’s Fruit Shoots with coloured paper and eyes. I downloaded the turtle CHLORINAR font here and simply made my own printable tags and signs too. It helps to invest in a good colour printer for this type of stuff.
I also grabbed some limeade to pop in a dispenser. The dispenser leaked though, and to be honest the limeade was vile.
Totally Awesome Games!
We didn’t organise any games like pass the parcel as we had a bouncy castle. The only organised fun I rolled out were ice eggs. You can read more about making these right here.
They are so much fun when the weather is warm. Grab some plastic tools and let the kids enjoy! Each egg included a toy dinosaur for the kids to keep.
I ordered a plastic table cloth from eBay, along with Turtles themed cups and napkins, green straws and green paper plates.
On a Budget
You really don’t need to spend much to have a fab time. You can pick up lots of bits on eBay and create your own printable labels and signs. The apples and fruit shoots look great and didn’t take me long at all.
Another thing that worked really well was tattoos! We all had a lot of fun!
Have you gone all out with your kids party?! I love making an effort to make it special for b. It’s so much fun and I love seeing it all come together.
