12 Advent Calendars for Kids This Christmas!
Blimey, I can’t believe I’m already mentioning the C word. Where did the year go? I feel like it’s flown but in reality it’s gone no faster than any other year. We’ve had some wonderful times and some lovely holidays. We’ve also gotten through the achilles injury that mr d was afflicted with earlier this year. So yeah, its’ been mostly good. We’re happy and mostly healthy which im grateful for.
Today on the blog I’m looking at Advent Calendars. I know it’s early but come on, I need to get my bum in gear and get organized. To help you too, I’ve rounded up some of my favourite ones for kids. This post does contain affiliate links, which basically means I get a small commission if you buy said calendar through the links below. Don’t let that put you off though, there really are some fun calendars here!
This one is so cute and perfect if you have a Trolls fan! For just under £16 it isn’t cheap but if you want something a bit different from the same old chocolate ones then this is cute. The gifts inside are all beauty-related so think hair clips and lip balms.
Next up is this Minions Mega Bloks calendar. The price tag is just under 12 quid, so again not a cheap one. The gifts look super cute though and you can combine them with other Mega Bloks toys.
This advent calendar is perfect for any Toot-Toot animals fans! The actual box panel of the calendar folds down to make a small play area for your new toys. The reindeer includes a number of Christmas songs and tunes too. You can pop this on any Toot-Toot animal play sets as well. This one isn’t cheap and retails at £24.99.
Now this one really isn’t cheap at nearly an eye-watering Fifty quid but go with. Behind each little door is a Thomas and Friends MINIS characters, 6 of which are exclusive holiday characters. If you have a die-hard Thomas fan then maybe this one is for you! The trains are the same size as the MINIs in the blind bags, so you’re basically getting 24 blind bags. They retail around two quid a bag so yeah, I can see why the whole calendar would set you back a bit.
I couldn’t include a round up of kid’s advent calendars without including something from the Playmobil range. They have so many to offer but I picked this cute Christmas themed one. The sleigh is so cute!
We reviewed a few Schleich toys earlier this year and although pricey, they are great quality. If you have a horse-mad child then this one might be up your street.
B is a huge Fireman Sam fan and this calendar looks really fun for the £20 price tag. You get a lot of accessories and the calendar doubles as a play area too!
Hands up Melissa and Doug fans? Yep?
This calendar is a little different in that it isn’t 24 tiny toys to get lost in the ether of toy mess. Instead it is a magnetic wooden tree, decorated with 24 ornaments and a star for the top of the tree. Each day you take one ornament off the tree and countdown to the big day.
This Doh-Vinci advent calendar is a great choice if you don’t want to spend a small fortune. At £7 it’s a lot cheaper than the others on offer. Behind each door are a number of tools and crafty bits to help you work on a Winter Wonderland craft project.
Now this is the one I want on December 1st! I’ve become a bit obsessed with Lego and love building things with B’s Lego. They offer a number of advent calendars but I love this Christmas themed City one.
This Finding Dory advent calendar retails at just under £15 and is a bit cheaper than the others I featured. An added bonus is that the calendar is reusable after Christmas for storing trinkets and treasure in.
This will be what I get the hubby this Christmas. He is obsessed with Haribo!
What advent calendar do you go for? The traditional chocolate one? A picture one? I love those! A “fill your own” type or one of these toy-themed ones? It seems advent calendars are becoming more complex each year!
