Time Flies When You’re…Sleep Deprived and Hanging Out Your @ss!
Today on the blog im sharing a write-up of the most awesome weekend we had celebrating my little boys fourth birthday. I can’t believe how fast the four years have gone. I know it’s a cliché but they have whizzed by. Even if they didn’t feel like they were “whizzing” at the time. I can’t say I overly enjoyed maternity and you can read my honest account here.
b turns one
The last few years have always been pretty low-key in terms of birthdays. Birthday 1, J and I took b to Puxton Park and just had a family tea and cake at ours. I invited a few (loads) of mum friends round on the Friday too for a tea party. It ended up a bit more manic than I expected. Oops.
Birthday 2 was a quiet affair and we celebrated at home with a few friends. This birthday will forever be the birthday where I was sick. My parents came down for the air show on the seafront in Weston-super-Mare. We got parked, we grabbed a beer and promptly the Red Arrows were cancelled due to an odd fog that rolled in. Brilliant. And then that night I was sick. Double brilliant.
The F*ck You threes
Birthday 3 we actually did get to see the Red Arrows and you can take a look at how b enjoyed them here. Note – he hated it. We had a quiet tea party at J’s parents and that was that.
So this year I wanted to go all out and we had a party in the new house and b wanted it Turtles themed. I hired a bouncy castle, we did fun food and we invited all our friends. It was awesome!
Today on the blog I’m not sharing a “top tips on how to be super mum” or “my xyzs for doing xyz” – Instead I’m sharing some of my favourite photos from the weekend. Enjoy!
I absolutely love this one of b waiting for his cousins to arrive.
I spent time a few days before sticking eyes to Fruit Shoots and apples!
I froze a load of dinosaur eggs the week before too. The kids loved cracking and smashing them open!
And the aftermath!
Is your little one growing up faster than you can say “slow down”?! How do you feel as each year passes?
