Hello and welcome! Are you all set for Valentines? Do you do much? We don’t to be honest but today we have some cookies to share with you – perfect for Valentines 🙂 Are you doing anything special? If not then bake the cookies anyway and enjoy!
Now remember, I’m no super mum. I make what I can, when I can and if it tastes good, I share it with you. The great thing about these cookies is that they didn’t take long to make, they only take ten minutes to bake and they taste yummy scrumptious!
Make your own cookies!
If you want to make our nuts about you cookies, you will need the following:
100 grams of butter
180 grams of light brown sugar
An egg
200 grams of plain flour
1 tsp of bicarbonate of soda
100 grams of chocolate chips
100 grams of chopped nuts
First up, mix your sugar and butter until it is a light, creamy consistency. This is the toughest bit to be honest. You can use a mixer but mine kept throwing bits of butter and sugar out the top :/
Now go rest your arm!
Are you back with me after resting your arm?! Next add your egg, flour, bicarbonate of soda. Give it a mix and add in your nuts and chocolate chips.
Now you want your cookie dough to resemble playdough. Soft but not sticky. If it is a bit sticky then add some extra flour.

Roll out your cookie dough and use your cutter. I popped flour on the surface to make sure the dough didn’t stick.
Space those hearts!
Line your heart cookies on baking paper on a tray. Be sure to space them out. I mucked this up and some merged into double hearts. Oops!

Bake in the oven, about 180 degrees for ten minutes. Keep an eye on them because once they start burning, they burn quickly!
As you can see, they spread quite a bit and they look a bit less “heart” now…
They taste amazing though and they took 15 minutes to prep. The boy liked helping me too!

If you enjoyed this post, save it for later on your Pinterest 🙂 and be sure to comment and let me know how you got on!
