I’ve been blogging for over a year and one of the things I love to take part in to try and promote some of my ramblings are link ups or linkies. If you are a fellow blogger reading this then you probably know what I mean. If you are a family member or friend (who feels obliged to read) then let me explain. You basically share a blog post and then comment on other posts. By doing this I’ve discovered so many amazing parents, writers, creators, foodies and photographers – there really are some very talented people out there!
One of my favourite link ups is called Keep Calm and Carry On Linking Sunday (KCACOLS) run by the fab Franca, over at A Moment With Franca. I’ve co-hosted this linkie with a number of other bloggers and it’s always a lot of fun. KCACOLS usually attracts over 100 blog posts so there are plenty of different topics and posts to read, share and comment on. There are so many great posts that I thought I’d start sharing my top 5 each week. If you want to discover new writers and some fab blog posts each week, then join me here for my round-up!
This week there were so many lovely posts that I found it hard to pick just five favourites. I pick the posts that I enjoyed reading, that resonated with me and that ultimately I want to share with my readers – you : ) So here goes…
I am loving this simple arty crafty idea shared by Mummy Here and There : ) Basically take circle shaped objects, draw round them, then have your child colour in the patterns. Such a simple yet effective idea to keep little ones busy on rainy days 🙂
Next up is a post shared by The Mum Reviews – Taking a Holiday from Parenting. This post really resonated with me because I am a working mum. And as much as I love being a “mum” mum, I do really love work and having that “adult” time that being at work brings. I was recently away for ten days and this post reminded me to enjoy the “regular” times. I’ve been guilty in the past of not feeling content and moaning about the same old. Actually the same old is just fine for me most days. Especially when it means relaxing in our new lounge!
The next post that made me chuckle and nod along was by Crummy Mummy – Christmas meltdowns only people with toddler will understand.
We are in the terrible THREEs at the moment and the advent calendar has been troublesome, as has understanding that not all presents are his presents! And no we cannot open them as soon as we get given them!
Another post that I really enjoyed this week was from Buzy Mum – Now It’s December, Let The Christmas Festivities Begin! I get where Buzy Mum is coming from here, and I nearly walked out of B&M back in November because they were playing Christmas music just after Halloween! Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE Christmas, but not in Autumn!
And finally this week, I’m loving this festive round up of books for toddlers by Katy at Hot Pink Wellingtons. We did a book advent calendar this Christmas and in it was the Dinosaur that Pooped Christmas. It is completely ridiculous but as Katy says in her post, poo has hilarious appeal to toddlers! And why not embrace it ey! One of our fave books is Pigeon Poop – nothing to do with Christmas but the boy loves it.
There you go then, a little round up of my favourites this past week. If you want to check out all the posts at KCACOLS, you can do so here.
