Spooky Rocky Road for Halloween!
Since we moved house, I’ve been so much more motivated to bake! It probably has something to do with the fact you can actually get into the kitchen now. Our old town house was lovely but the kitchen was the size of a large cupboard and it made it difficult to position a toddler while manoeuvring around, trying to bake cakes. Our new kitchen is lush. I could literally fit 4 of my old kitchen in it! So to celebrate kitchen space, I’ve been enjoying time cooking with the kid. This weekend we made rocky road! And rocky road with a Halloween twist.
Because of my new found motivation for baking, I thought I’d give rocky road a go. I love it because it’s super easy to make. A bit like these Christmas Pudding Oreos – I know, I know but it’s not long now!
What do you need for Rocky Road?
200 grams of digestive biscuits
125 grams of butter
200 grams of chocolate – 100 grams of milk and 100 grams of dark
100 grams of mini marshmallows
50 grams of glace cherries
50 grams of walnuts
A squeeze of golden syrup
Halloween themed sprinkles
We pretty much bashed up digestive biscuits and added them to melted chocolate and butter. I then added my own bits and pieces to make the rocky road – walnuts, cherries, marshmallows and also a squeeze of golden syrup. Why not ey, it’s not like I’m trying to make healthy rocky roads here.
The little man LOVED bashing up the biscuits. This recipe is so easy and faff free and there were lots of little “jobs” b could help me with.
These rocky roads require no baking at all. I spread the mix on a baking sheet and popped in the fridge for a few hours.
And the Halloween twist? Well we just added some sprinkles 🙂
