The Daddy Tag Challenge – Getting to Know Mr D!

Aw little B only a few days old and still in hospital. I think you can just see the size 20 pants in the right corner! The bigger the better – I am usually a 10-12 haha!

Although this blog is a family blog, the words, thoughts and feelings all come from ME! I mention Mr D now and again but here he is, taking part in The Daddy Tag Challenge! The Daddy Tag Challenge is hosted over at The Frenchie Mummy blog if you want more info 🙂

So here we go….he didn’t go into much detail when answering each question! I know I would have yabbered on for bloody pages. Me being me, I had to add my own thoughts to his answers too – see the brackets 😉 Oh and I included some cute photos. I’m sure Mr D wont mind 🙂

Are you a Stay at Home Daddy or a Working Daddy?

Working

Would you have it any other way?

No (he enjoys his work)

Do you co-change dirty nappies? Even the very smelly ones?

Yes (Er yes! Do dads even get out of changing nappies these days anyway??!)

Shattered.com !!

A little fairy gives you the possibility of breastfeeding? Are you going for it or do you run away?

Go for it (Mr D is always supportive)

What is the one must-have item for a daddy?

Xbox one (and phew for me! It means more blogging time!)

How many kids do you plan on having?

One! (He used to say he wanted loads. Hmm)

Lads’ nights? How often do you have them?

Never (Nope, he’d rather play his Xbox)

Your children’s favourite achievement?

Pushing the buttons on a police helicopter. (This was last September at an open day at our local police headquarters)

What is your best memory with your kid(s)?

All of them. (Even after everything I wrote in my tantrum rant post daddy??! And surely this meal out brings back happy memories…)

Name one thing you miss since being a daddy?

Weekends to do what I want. (and sleep, and sleep and more sleep. Oh no wait, that’s me that tries to sneak in a lie-in each weekend 😉 )

Weight gain, before pregnancy, during, after and now? And we mean YOU DADDY, not the mummy!

The same weight throughout (yep pretty much)

Dream holiday with your kids?

California tour (yep, we’d like to head over to the States at some point)

Meh, the South Coast will do!

Dream holiday without your kids or even without the other half? (You’re allowed to dream)

California tour (see I’d be happy to spend a week at home, in peace, and sleep and binge watch Netflix. That’s how exciting my life is now haha)

How has your life changed since having kids?

I think of my child first before I think of things for myself and my wife. It’s all about my son. (yep, spot on)

Same shorts 🙂 And the Flame socks. We loved putting these on baby b as it used to wind Grandma up loads 🙂 hehe.

Finish the sentence “It makes my heart melt when…”

When my son runs to me when I pick him up at nursery every day (awww reading this made my heart melt. Mr d also LOVES story time with b each night)

Favourite beers brands and football team?

Butcombe. Don’t like football. (Yep, I’m an Xbox WAG 🙂 )

Huggies or Pampers?

Huggies! (he means the wipes here!)

Have you always wanted kids?

Deep down yes.

Love this photo of my boys. B was five weeks old and we were celebrating our wedding anniversary with lunch, where we got married.

Best part of being a dad?

Being a hero. (aww, and you are. B thinks you fly a helicopter every day for work 🙂 )

So there you have it, our Daddy Tag Challenge complete. Who’d like to go next?!

  1. Great answers! I love the way mummy stepped in it. Men always get to the point, right? But it\’s so cool he actually accepted to answer. Still trying to convince Grumpy Boyfriend to do so! And another geeky Papa. Mine is pretty much the same with his PC… I reckon they even play the same games… Mine says it\’s a generation thing; yep right! Thank you so much again for doing it. If you could challenge 3 bloggers, mummies or daddies, that would be great. To carry on the daddy love. #thedaddytag xx

  2. I\’m really enjoying reading these posts from a Dad\’s perspective. My other half always wanted 2 kids and then since our son came along almost 3 years ago he\’s staunch in his opinion that he only wants 1!
    Lovely photos.
PS. Do you live in Bristol – the last photo looks like it\’s in Bristol down at Millennium Square? #stayclassy

  3. Great to hear from the dads! As others have said – so funny with your additions in brackets 🙂 Alison x #ablogginggoodtime
