The Water Park in Weston is Perfect on a Hot Day!

If you are local to Weston-super-Mare and have kids, you definitely should check out the Water Park along the seafront. Pre-b I never even knew this place existed. Honestly! I heard children shouting and screaming and my insta-avoid radar kicked in. However, I am a mum now and my “seek out kid stuff ” radar is on.water park weston super mare mummy blogger family days out soutwest UK england

A few weeks ago on my day off, I’d planned to take b to the park (not the water park) after my morning at the nursery for Family Week. I’d kind of semi-packed a bag but I hadn’t planned on visiting the water park. It was only when we rocked up at the usual park that b said he didn’t want to go to that park and could we go to the one with the castle. Me being stupid, agreed, and off we trotted down to the seafront. It was a mistake for a number of reasons:

1 – It was half term. So instead of a quiet park, it was ram-packed.

2 – It was sunny. So it was super ram-packed.

And 3 – I wasn’t fully prepared. No towel, no swim shorts, no huge amount of snackage.

But as you can see from our photos below, we actually had a really nice afternoon together!water park weston super mare mummy blogger family days out soutwest UK england

The water park costs a couple of quid to enter – not each, just for the child – but you get access to not just the playground bits but the water park bit. If the weather is really good, the kids absolutely love it. Why didn’t we have stuff like this when I was growing up ey?!

King of the Castle!

Little man particularly likes the wooden castle and was excited to explore that. Really it is for the older kids but off he went and was quite happy playing with…yep some wooden “bits” in a hole in the castle walls. He literally spent half an hour just picking bits out, giving them to me and telling me they were ice-cream. Whatever makes him happy ey!

We also enjoyed a little splash in the water 🙂 B is a bit wary though and I find he never really lets himself “go”. He always holds back a bit. Here he is enjoying the jets though 🙂

If you are down this way in the summer then I highly recommend stopping for a few hours here. It’s a lot of fun!weston super mare water park seafront summer fun family bloggers outh west holiday

Things to know too before you go:

  • There is an onsite café for drinks and snacks if you forget to pack enough of your own!
  • Your entrance ticket is valid all day so you can come and go.
  • There are toilets and a changing cubicle onsite.
  • There is parking right next door and I am pretty sure an hour costs £1.20 or very close to that.
  • You are right on the beach so you could literally make a full day of it 🙂
  • Don’t forget a towel and a change of clothes!

  1. This looks like so much fun! We have a couple of parks the same local to us and the kids love them, it\’s just a shame that the weather up north is very rarely fit for outdoor water fun! #fortheloveofBLOG

  2. This looks like such a fun place for children! I would love to bring J but it is a little far for a day trip 🙁 the castle looks amazing and wow your boy has a great imagination with the ice cream 😉

  3. This looks absolutely fun! The Castle grabbed my attention straight away too. It definitely sounds like a full fun day kind of outing. Thanks for sharing with #bigpinklink

  4. This looks like a fab day out, and I love the fact that it was spontaneous, I always find that a spontaneous event is so much better than a planned event. B looks like he had a fab time, I love the look of the sprinkler jets – perfect for toddlers and small children to run in and out of. The weather looks gorgeous too, which I\’m sure made the day perfect for you both. Thanks so much for joining up this week at #fortheloveofBLOG. Claire x

  5. Oh wow! It looks like an amazing place for the kids, loads of playground areas to explore and the water splash park part too. My two would spend the entire day there, although maybe we could lure them away with the promise of the beach. We will definitely visit if we\’re ever down that way! Thanks so much for linking up to #Whatevertheweather x

  6. Everytime we head out now we have a backpack that my son carries which contains extra shirt, underwear and towel. Its not heavy so he is in charge of it and when we head out we can always get wet. This is one of the place we love to visit too! Moreso when they are free haha! #whatevertheweather
