How to Make Veggies Fun at Meal Times perfect for fussy eaters

Encourage fussy eaters with some fun veggie ideas!

Did you know that the 8th June is World Oceans Day? No, I didn’t know either until recently 🙂 I thought I’d do something fun and silly with b’s dinner tonight to raise awareness and celebrate the greatness that is our oceans. I had a few ideas but the evening didn’t go as planned and I only managed to get one idea put together properly. That being the sausage, mash and veggie palm tree! Bonkers I know but B loved it! If you have a toddler that is fussy with veg then perhaps try something similar and see how it goes down.

For more inspiring bloody stupid veggie ideas, check out the cow in the fab foto fails blog post ;0) Don’t forget to share your fails with me too in Instagram using the hash tag #fabfotofailhealthy food made fun for children sausage and mash tree dinner

Zero effort required!

I literally used no props and did nothing ground-breaking to make a pretty standard, dull meal into something fun 🙂 Here is everything you need to know to make a summery, tropical, palm tree, tea time treat:

  • Mash potato – spread a spoonful across the bottom of the plate to make the sandy island.
  • Chop your sausages as you would for any regular toddler meal. I then arranged them in to tree trunks.
  • Add your veg! I used green veg here to make the “leaves” but anything goes. You could add a sweetcorn or carrot sunshine 🙂

And there you have it, a fun take on a standard meal.

  1. I love this one of your meals! My LO is still refining her fork skills & can\’t be trusted with a big plate yet but as soon as she can feed herself a meal like this I\’m going to do this one!

  2. This is absolutely ADORABLE! I really think making fun little designs with food is such a neat way to get them to eat the foods they don\’t want to. I think my son may be a little to young for this now, but I\’m definitely going to keep it in mind. Thanks for sharing! <3 #KCACOLS

    • ah thank you 🙂 it is def worth a try that\’s for sure. Another trick is betting little man he cant eat/try XYZ food. he always likes to prove me wrong 😉

  3. How creative. My little girl can be a nightmare at eating her veggies. Perhaps I\’ll try this out and see if I can get the green stuff down her xx Thanks for linking up at #KCACOLS. Hope you can come back again next Sunday.
