How to Decorate Your Toddler Boy’s Bedroom on a Budget!
Following on from my nursery decoration post, I thought I’d share his “big boy room” with you. We moved him into his cot bed after last Christmas and I figured it was a good time to decorate. The transition from cot to toddler bed wasn’t awful. We had our ups and downs! You can read some of my tips on the things that helped here!
Pick a Neutral Colour Scheme!
I couldn’t be bothered to re-paint b’s room so decided to continue with the grey theme and add some strong colours to brighten the room up. A bit like my yellow and grey bathroom. I have a thing for grey! Grey is fab though because you can change accessories next year without blowing the budget on paint again!
Add Cute Curtains!
You really don’t need to spend a fortune either. We got the curtains, canvas set and light shade all in Asda. Just changing the curtains brightened up the room a lot.
Floating Shelves are Fab for Books!
Here you can see the little book shelves. We got these in B&M for literally £1.99 or something ridiculous. Absolute bargain.
Bunting is lovely because it is cheap and simple to make. I found the tyre bunting in Dunelm in the post-Christmas sale. If you want to have a go at making it though, take a look at my tutorial here!
Add a Rug Instead of Changing the Carpet
We picked up the city mat in Dunelm too. They had a large range of various different “city” scenes.
B loved this mat and still plays on it with his cars two years on! I was a bit worried about moving him from his cot to bed, but some of these strategies worked for us!
So there, some big boy room decor inspiration 🙂 Are you thinking of decorating your little one’s room? What theme did you pick?!
