How to Make Fun Lunches for Toddlers and Kids!

how to make healthy food fun for children - sandwich and lunch ideas

The good old sandwich!

Sandwiches tend to be my go-to for quick lunches and snacks. They don’t have to be the same old, same old though! Here are some ideas for jazzing them up a bit 🙂 And if you want more lunchtime ideas, take a read here of these fun lunch ideas!

Fancy triangles

So not a huge variation on the regular triangular offering but add a slice of cucumber or go that step further and cut them again to make “mini” sandwiches. Easy peasy. Here I used some cucumber stars with the mini sandwiches.

Open sandwiches

Why not try the cheese or ham on the outside to make open sandwiches?

Bite size

So as above, try small sandwiches. I find if I cut things up smaller, little b tends to eat more of said food. Think tiny triangles, small squares or little shapes.

Sandwich kebabs

You can pretty much “kebab” anything you like. Here I tried sandwich kebabs and b loved them. I find b likes plain bread and then hummus as a dip on the side.

Kebab Sandwiches

  1. Love this post. I really struggle with sandwich inspiration and my one year old won\’t eat them at all so it\’s great to have some ideas for varying things a bit. Thanks for linking up to #CookBlogShare

  2. Ahh these are lovely. How about using gingerbread man/ lady cutters, I used to adore this as a child (: Also star sarnies!

  3. Fab ideas for snadwiches! My little one is not a fan of sandwiches, although would probably go for the deconstructed kind which could also be an idea 😉 Thanks for linking up to #MarvMondays. Loving these posts! Emily
