Yummy No-Bake Oreo Truffles!
Last Sunday it was my sister in law’s happy birthday. If you care, we call it a “happy” birthday because b calls it this. And I think it’s cute. A bit like when he prefixed every thing that started with “Christmas” with father – father Christmas tree, father Christmas pudding…you get it.
So anyways we pop over Sunday morning for celebratory bacon sarnies. It turns out sister in law has been baking these amazing cookie, truffle ball delights. They were super yummy. And this is coming from a girl who does not have a sweet tooth. I was so impressed, I raced out and purchased the ingredients and made up some of these little balls of heaven. Now if you “google” or “Pinterest” these, you can find them everywhere, and about a thousand and one variations.
How to make your very own Oreo cookie truffles!
I will share with you how I made these and share the recipe I used here. For these little balls I used:
200 grams of Oreo cookies
100 grams of cream cheese – I used ASDA own brand
200 grams of melted milk chocolate
First up, whizz up your cookies in a blender. You could bash them to bits with a rolling pin if you want to. I used a hand held blender.
Next, add your cream cheese and mix it in. It takes a few minutes to really mix it in. It should look like this when you’re done.
Next use a teaspoon to scoop up the mix and make small balls. Pop them on to baking paper and pop in the fridge for a few hours.
When they are “hardish” melt your chocolate (any will do, I had milk in), and dip the balls in. Try and dip them quickly or they end up looking like this – #pinterestfail
The mix started to fall apart. Oops.
Once you are done dipping, pop them back in the fridge to set. Oh and sprinkle something over the top. I went with some cocoa powder. But anything would work here. Well…within reason of course! Maybe not parmesan cheese?! And voila! Oreo cookie balls:
Have you tried any of these cookie truffles?! I’m loving these red velvet ones too!
