I’ve been meaning to try this for ages and it was a bit of an experiment…which actually worked out pretty well. My motto is “faff free”. It needs to be quick. It needs to be easy. And it needs to include ingredients I can get in our local shop!
So here we have 5 Minute Chia Cinnamon Granola. The first attempt failed by the way. I didn’t add enough butter and it just came out looking and tasting like dust. Great.
Here is the recipe to try to ensure a good tasting Chia Cinnamon Granola!
- 100g oats
- Sachet of Chia seeds (8g) – I got these packs in Sainsbury’s
- 2 tbsps. of maple syrup (you could use honey or anything else runny and sweet)
- 2 tsps. of cinnamon – again up to you. If you like cinnamon, go for it. Not a fan? Leave it out.
- 100-125 grams of butter. And any butter. I just used what we had.
Making Your Chia Granola
Melt the butter. Combine the oats, chai and cinnamon in a bowl.
Add the melted butter and mix. Add in the maple syrup. Mix until all the oats are covered in the butter.
Spread the oat mix on a baking tray and bake in the oven at about 180. I kept checking it every five minutes to make sure the top bits didn’t burn. Give it a little shake and you should be fine. And here you have Chia Cinnamon Granola in literally minutes.
