This post is actually a follow on from our Secret World trip. If you are heading down the M5 this Easter or Spring, the Apex Park in Burnham provides a great stop off to stretch the legs if the weather allows! There is a bit more info on this Somerset Play site.
The postcode for the Apex Park is TA8 3YY. It must be about 5 miles from Junction 22 off the M5. I did try google mapping it for you to be exact but it keeps taking me up to Droitwich (user error I guess). So stuff it, basically it isn’t far!
Fun at Apex Park in Burnham!
Anyways so after Secret World, we headed to the Apex Park for a run around the play area. It really is fab. There is equipment for all ages, small slides, big slides, a sand pit, climbing frame and a zip wire and skate park area.
My only gripe with Apex is that not all the equipment is gated off, meaning that dogs can roam freely around the sandpit and grass areas. And they do. One sunny day we were greeted to a load of dog poo at the end of the big slide (b’s fave). Nice. Some people really do amaze me. But luckily yesterday we were fine and we got to enjoy all the equipment. Here are some piccies from the morning.
After Apex we headed to Burnham seafront. I haven’t been for years and we only live up the road! It was lovely though and we enjoyed a walk to the arcades. I’m not at all fussed but b loves the bright lights and loves climbing in and out of all those Thomas/Bob/Iggle Piggle type rides that cost a quid or so. For some reason they always seem to be “broken” when we stumble across them. Bummer ey.
We made our way to Fortes which is just near the front. It is a diner come ice cream parlour. It is the first time I’ve visited and we weren’t disappointed. We got to sit in the sun, enjoy some ice cream (well, I had a fizzy water as I don’t like Ice cream) and watch the world go by.
Have you been to Burnham-on-Sea? Have you visited the Apex park? If you’re in the area with little ones then it is def worth checking out!
