Keeping it in Perspective

keeping positive when you feel crap with children toddlers stress motherhoodIt has been one of those days – teething toddler, super cold weather, grey and dull. I know, I know, it’s not all bad really. I feel super tired though (thanks b) and it really leaves me feeling less than patient. This morning we were awake at six and by nine I feel like we’ve been up hours. And we have!

The day started out just fine – saw some friends that we don’t get to see so often. And then it went downhill, pretty much from the time my husband suggested we go “shopping”. Unless I really need to get something, I’m not a huge shopper. And I like it less so with b in tow. Anyways it was a disaster and further enforces my view that shopping sucks! You can read about more toddler woes here too if you’re really bored haha!

So after having a sulk and a nap in the car, here are the things I’m happy and grateful for today:

1 – We got to see our good friends. It’s lovely seeing the kids play together (reality – my child upset their child) and we had loads of fun decorating Easter chick biscuits (reality – my child ate biscuit and all sprinkles)

2 – Overall we are happy and healthy. A lot of people we know are going through real crappy times right now. I am thankful and grateful for only having a sh*t shopping trip to worry about.

3 – The egg cup b knocked off a shelf in a charity shop did not break. I really didn’t fancy paying for a naff, broken egg cup.
