I know, I know, I’m being dull, boring, un-fun mummy. But hear me out on the chocolate free Easter ideas… if you have a baby (or are buying for a friend or family member’s little one) then you probably (?!) don’t want to give them chocolate this Easter.
B was 7 months for his first Easter and I just didn’t think it necessary for him to eat chocolate. We still had fun though, and especially when they are little and not so “aware” of the choco-fest. B is now 3 and he absolutely knows what chocolate is and he wants it!
Chocolate Free Gift Ideas!
Here are some of the things I got little b for Easter when he was a baby.
Spring themed books.
I found the “That’s not my” range brilliant and grabbed some spring animal themed ones to keep baby b entertained. The Usborne Farmyard Tales are cute too and you can often pick them up cheap in The Works. We buy A LOT of books in The Works and you can see some of our other favourite picks here!
Little b loves teddies and anything snuggly. He has so many bunnies and bears. He still wants them now at 3 but I’ve stopped buying them as his room has more teddies than floor space.
I know this doesn’t work once they start getting the idea of things. But when they are tiny, clothes make ideal gifts, ready for the warmer weather. Note, this is a year on now and b is 3. He is less than impressed with clothes!
I got these when b was six months or so and I have to say, I hate these flippin’ eggs! You have to do the “puzzle” each time to pack them away. And it’s always me packing them away. They are cute though and ideal for a little one. Each egg has a shape on the underneath so they match the shape in the egg box – hence having to put them away properly.
To be honest you probably have a gazillion already. For some reason, people like to give these as gifts when your baby reaches about 6 months or so :-/ Anyway, I find the Melissa and Doug ones are always fab, as well as the ELC ones. I often pick stuff up like this at car boot sales during the summer months.
B is now 3 and he is not a puzzle fan. He prefers Lego.
What do you get your little ones at Easter? Now that B is older I guess we will go with traditional Easter eggs. He gets so much though so I think I’ll stick to some chocolate free gifts too this year!
