Goodness, where as the year gone! To get us in the firework mood, I added a bit of sparkle to little b’s fruit recently 🙂 As with most of the food stuff I blog, this is super easy to do. All you need is a star shaped cookie cutter, some skewers and anything else fun you have in the cupboard. To be honest you don’t need to skewer the stars but they look nice all lined up.
To make the stars I used watermelon and kiwi fruit. I love using watermelon for fun food because a huge slice of it goes miles and you can pretty much cookie cutter any shape you want!
After cutting stars, I added some hundreds and thousands and sugar stars for a little treat. I figure little b can dip his stars into the hundreds and thousands. I popped the extra bits of left over fruit in a bowl and added a sparkly cocktail stick.
You could easily server these star kebabs with yogurt or ice cream for a fruit based pudding. Or the kebabs would work on their own for a kids party 🙂
Do you do anything to celebrate Guy Fawkes night? We used to go to some of the local firework displays but the little man says he doesn’t like fireworks now :/ We will see!
Don’t forget to pin the pics for later 🙂
