As I’ve mentioned in previous posts, add a cocktail stick to any meal and your child will eat…(I may have to try this with some of B’s less favourite foods to back up that claim!). The same applies, at least I have found, to using skewers and this morning I made some fruit kebabs while B was eating his Shreddies.
Again, this is not rocket science and it involved a slice of watermelon, three grapes, a stick and a flower shaped cutter. It took less time to create than the bread took to toast! You may be thinking, ah but what about all the waste. A couple of solutions – eat it yourself – this is particularly beneficial for me as I typically don’t eat a lot of fruit. Or, my preferred option, chop it up and pop it in a bowl/cup cake holder. Insta-fruit salad.
And then to add a little Halloween twist since it is October and all – a rice paper bat (eBay) – and there you have it, Spooky Watermelon. Little B’s eyes lit up when I presented this to him 🙂
